My grandfather's brother Joe moved them all down from Sicily. There are quite a few Giammarinaro in Italy / Sicily I don't know if we are all related, but it is fun to find out who is who.

My grandparents came to the United States through Ellis Island. Our name somewhere got changes to Jamerino. My father, James Gerald Jamerino was born in Detroit, but his grandparents came from Sicily when they were very young. Their name was Giammarinaro but was changed upon arrive in the United States. My father had six brothers and one sister. My oldest Uncle, Joseph, was born in Italy and emigrated to the United State with my grandparents. Sadly, our heritage is getting lost. How sad. My grandmother died during the flu epidemin in the 1900's. Grandpa died in the early 1960's. All my uncles and my aunt who ruled with an iron hand over her brothers after my grandmother died is also gone. It is great to see the name carried on.
